One more. A man who was stung hundreds of times by a swarm of wasps says he is still too scared to go outside. Andrew Powell, 57, initially thought he had been stung 160 times after they invaded his home near Brecon, Powys, on Sunday - but said he has now counted more than 250 stings across his body. The festival organiser previously described how the "sky turned brown" as he was swarmed by thousands of wasps from a neighbouring farm, having just taken off his motorbike leathers. "Within seconds they were all over me," he said. "I ran into the house and into the shower hoping the power of the water would get them off. "The bottom of the bath was black with them and they were all over the windowsill. "It was like a Nightmare on Elm Street but in my bathroom." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c7031992pelo

I cannot imagine Sen. Tester winning. It would be a huge upset for me.

Mr. Silly Putty is any Marxist thing you want him to be. But he is a good team with Kamala-lama-ding-dong. He lets them burn Minneapolis down and Heels-up Harris raises the money to bail them out ...

@Doctor-Phibes According to Wiki, it was founded by William the Silent. Mr. Trump is making up for that. Yes, he’ll go down as Dickwad the Brash.

Sounds like a policy intent to sow division within or altogether dismantle NATO. https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_49198.htm Mr. Putin would like either of those outcomes very much.

@LuFins-Dad said in Old timers just won't quit ...: @taiwan_girl said in Old timers just won't quit ...: @Jolly said in Old timers just won't quit ...: Bidenomics. I think more demographics and the aging of the US population. (In any case, those 80 year old were in their 70's during the President Trump president and still felt a need to work then. LOL. Maybe we should go back and blame it on Obama or Bush Jr.) No, FDR. Touche!!

@Copper said in 100% tariff on Chinese cars...: They aren’t cars, they’re EVs, mostly useless at any price Depending on what you are looking for, the Chinese EV can be a good value. Quite popular in Thailand. Cheap and a good city car.

Homelessness has been around probably forever. Not sure it will ever be solved. For me, and with only a few data points, it is being hidden better (e.g. Los Angeles) more recently. I think one of reasons it is more "visible" is that news is now instantaneous. Even 15 or 20 years ago, pictures, etc. did not spread as quickly. So, I am not sure there has been a "step change" in the number of homeless, but it has been easier to learn it and see it via the various social media. [image: 1724769193842-img_1813.jpg]

@George-K said in End of the "Jungle Primary" in Alaska?: @Jolly said in End of the "Jungle Primary" in Alaska?: Going back a bit...To me, Alaska doesn't have what we called a Jungle Primary. We had those in Louisiana for years. Everybody ran in the primary, regardless of party. The top two then ran in a run-off election. Alaska has ranked choice, which is different. Sorry.... I think you can argue it either way.

@George-K said in Constantine: Never saw it - any good? I liked it. as one critic called it, "a one-of-a-kind hybrid: a theological noir action film". Reeve's character is a chain smoking cynic and a departure from the source material, fitting his demon hunter persona. The actress who plays Gabriel does a stunning job and the guy who plays Lucifer makes the most of limited screen time. Critics overall give it a "meh", but IMDB rates it a 7.0. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0360486/
